Our commitment

This campaign is built by and for autistic people. We know that autistic communities have historically had their data collected, shared, and used in ways that were not in their interests. We do not do that here. We collect only what we need to run this campaign. We do not sell your data. We do not share it with researchers, advertisers, or third parties without your explicit consent. Your presence in this community is not a data point for someone else’s purpose.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help with spam detection. An anonymised string created from your email address may be provided to the Gravatar service to check if you are using it. After approval, your profile picture may be visible in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors can download and extract any location data from images on the site.

Cookies

If you leave a comment you may opt in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies for your convenience. These cookies last for one year. If you visit our login page, a temporary cookie will be set to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser. When you log in, cookies will be set to save your login information and screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days and screen options cookies last for one year.

Who we share your data with

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email. We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

How long we retain your data

Comment data is retained indefinitely to support moderation. Registered users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time from their profile. Website administrators can also access and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you can request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold, except data we are required to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes. These rights apply regardless of where you are located. If you are in the European Union, you have additional rights under GDPR. If you are in Australia, the Australian Privacy Act 1988 applies. Where your data is sent

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. Membership and payment data is processed securely through Stripe. We do not store payment details on this site.
